Final Mission Project 2016-2017

For our final mission project of the year we will be participating in the Our Hands for His Service Project coordinated by the National Honor Society and Student Council at WLHS. They have chosen the Zambia Aquaponics project for the 2017 OHFHS project. The Zambia Aquaponics program is aimed at bringing a new way to grow vegetables and at the same time bring fresh fish to the dinner table to villages in Africa.  Dr. Anderson of Wisconsin Lutheran College and his team of students have developed a method to raise Tilapia, a fish when full grown get to be about the size of a bass, and using the fish waste products to grow plants hydroponically. This has been done successfully on an experimental basis in Grenada and WLC already has one in place in Zambia. The money we collect will be used to set up a system at each of the schools in Zambia and then have a reserve bank account for villages to draw from to help them set up their own systems.  Through this, our schools and pastors can once again share the real bread of life to the villages of Zambia.
